Now, with just over a month left until the transfer window slams shut, Forest have reportedly set their sights on more fresh faces to add the cherry on top of what has been a successful summer. Recent rumours have even linked the Midlands club to free agent and former Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, whose agent has reportedly offered the midfielder to several clubs around the Premier League.

That said, Forest have seemingly set their sights on elsewhere in South America for their sixth signing of the summer. According to Cesar Luis Merlo via Sport Witness, Nottingham Forest have opened negotiations to sign Ramon Sosa in a deal that could be worth a reported $20m (£15.5m) in the next month. This follows Wolverhampton Wanderers' reported interest in the CA Talleres left-winger in a Midlands race for his signature.

Forest haven't been afraid to splash the cash in the current transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether they'll match Talleres' £15.5m price tag for the 24-year-old. Following an impressive season in the Copa de la Liga last time out, Sosa may get the chance to make his biggest career move yet by arriving at the City Ground over a move to Gary O'Neil's Wolves side.

"Gifted" Sosa can provide backup for Hudson-Odoi

Although Sosa's lack of experience in European football means that he's unlikely to step straight into Espirito Santo's starting side, he could at least provide cover for Calum Hudson-Odoi, whose injury history explains the need for exactly that.

At 24 years of age, the Paraguay winger could be entering his best years as a winger too, making now the best time to complete a move. Described as "gifted" by South American football expert Nathan Joyes, Forest could add crucial strength in depth by signing Sosa.

Coming off the back of a seven goal and six assist campaign, which was then followed by an impressive Copa America tournament, Sosa could yet steal some headlines if he completes a move to the Premier League this summer. If Joyes' praise is anything to go by, then Talleres' £15m+ price tag is an understandable one.

Wednesday might well want to go back in for Wright to try and replicate the success of Josh Windass' deal to the Owls, with the 30-year-old attacker previously playing at Ibrox himself, before becoming a main star in his new South Yorkshire location away from Scotland.

The former Aberdeen man has struggled to find form playing for Phillippe Clement's men in recent memory and could welcome a change of scenery, therefore, if a move finally takes place.

Despite an uninspiring last season donning Rangers blue, Wright has shown that he's capable of being a dangerous forward player for the Gers across his three-year stay at the club to date, with 12 goals and seven assists tallied up from 117 total clashes.

Those are impressive numbers from a Wednesday perspective, with Windass equally struggling at points when still on the books of the Scottish titans, having regularly fired blanks during his debut season in Glasgow before exploding into life elsewhere.

Windass would sign out from Ibrox with 12 goals and eight assists coming his way in league action across his final full season – after scoring zero league goals during his first campaign – but he has never looked back and has grown into becoming an Owls icon in the process.

وكانت مباراة القمة بين الأهلي والزمالك، المقرر إقامتها مساء الثلاثاء، قد أُلغيت بعدما أطلق الحكم محمود بسيوني صافرة النهاية بعد مرور 20 دقيقة من الانتظار، بسبب عدم حضور الأهلي إلى الملعب، تنفيذًا لقراره بعدم خوض اللقاء في حال إسناد التحكيم إلى طاقم مصري.

According to Lilywhite Rose podcast contributor John Wenham, Ipswich could be one of a number of clubs down the line that starts to show an interest in Spurs defender Djed Spence, after the ex-Nottingham Forest loanee saw a permanent move to Genoa pass him by.

Wenham stated that he suspects Premier League interest might emerge for the wantaway 23-year-old soon, who has really struggled to make an impact in North London since joining in 2022, with three dire loan spells away from Ange Postecoglou's men coming his way.

How Spence could be Ipswich's next Davis

Leeds United allowed Spence to leave early from his loan stint last season after he failed to impress – playing just seven games – but Ipswich have been able to turn unwanted players from West Yorkshire into superb gems when they relocate down to Suffolk, with Davis the main glowing example.

With Ipswich also arguably light in the right-back spot, as seen with Ben Johnson already joining McKenna's group down this flank to add numbers, the forgotten 23-year-old could shine if given time to acclimatise and settle at Portman Road, having once been a firm fan's favourite at Forest as a dangerous and expansive full-back option, just like Davis.

As can be seen with the sumptuous strike captured above from his fruitful time at the City Ground, Spence is unafraid to get involved with many an attack for his side, which would complement his partner down the left in Davis perfectly.

Spence pickedf up three goals and five assists from 46 total games whilst still on the books at Forest, which is a far cry away from the poor form that has plagued him since being chucked out on loan, with zero goal contributions managed whilst playing for Genoa, Rennes and Leeds.

Comparing both of their peaks in the Championship, when looking at the table above, Davis' attacking numbers obviously sweep the floor with Spence's at a staggering 21 assists to his lesser five.

However, Spence could offer some defensive grit to a leaky Tractor Boys side in the Premier League too, having picked up ten more clean sheets across his 42 league games for Forest than Davis, alongside bettering his duels won total.

The on-the-fringes Spurs defender approach as a "swashbuckling" presence will also have piqued Ipswich's interest, as he was described by Arsenal great Ian Wright – with McKenna now potentially stumbling across his next diamond in the rough.
